On Wednesday Bethany was back on BBC Radio Oxford, this time chatting to Jo Thoenes during the music hour on her show ‘Jo in the Afternoon’. You can hear Bethany from about 40 minutes in. And Silver Moon was played too! LISTEN HERE (available until 23/05/12).
This afternoon Bethany popped into BBC Radio Oxford for a brief chat with Howard Bentham (sitting in for James). Hear about Harpsichord Row, homemade vocal booths and all sorts of other things from about 23 minutes in. The show is available on iplayer for the next 7 days and you can LISTEN HERE.
I love today. This morning I woke up to find that Silver Moon had been included on Tom Robinson’s BBC Introducing Mix Tape for this week and was broadcast on 6 Music during the night. The show is one hour of non-stop eclectic new sounds. Definitely worth a listen. Then this afternoon Harpischord Row received its first review. I honestly couldn’t have hoped for a better one. I’m still smiling.
You can read the whole review on Colcifer’s Blog but very quickly here are my two favourite sentences: “I was born to like this album” and “One of very, very few albums recorded in a bedroom that you couldn’t have guessed was recorded in a bedroom”. The comment about the recording quality in particular has made me very very happy. Thank you Colcifer.
Wow, not sure where the past two weeks have gone, think it’s about time for an update as lots of things seem to have been going on.
Firstly we’ve got a couple of live dates confirmed plus more on their way. These will be either solo shows or with guest musicians:
- Saturday April 21st // Record Store Day at Truck Store, Oxford // Live music on stage in a record store on the Cowley Road opposite an ice cream shop. All Good.
- Monday May 7th // Witney Music Festival at The Plough // Album Launch Day!!
- Friday June 1st // The Olimpick Games, Chipping Camden // Details tbc, sounds like a wonderfully crazy event deep in The Cotswolds
Hopefully see some of you lurking around!
Secondly, Silver Moon is now available to buy on itunes; as a single for just 79p, bargain. The song has also had it’s first airplay with both BBC Oxford Introducing (18/03) and The Other Woman Show (25/03) on Amazing Radio.
And last but certainly not least, we can confirm that Harpsichord Row will be available to pre-order on Bandcamp from next week. We’ll announce this properly in the next few days.
The lovely people at BBC Introducing with Tom Robinson will be playing ‘Desire’ on this week’s Fresh On The Net show. You’ll be able to listen back here or if you’re up between 1.00 to 3.00 am on Monday morning you can tune in and hear it live. It will be played right after Daughter’s new track. Lovely.
UPDATE: Very pleased to say that Desire also made it onto the weekly podcast which will be available for the next 28 days here.
